Eighth Floor Grand Reading Room

The University Research Collections, located on the 6th-8th floors, contain technical and academic books selected to support university coursework and research.

 

8th Floor Call Numbers: Q-Z
The 8th floor is a QUIET study floor, designated for patrons to work and study with little to no conversation. Cell phones, pagers and laptops should be on quiet mode when you’re working on this floor.

The books on this floor have call numbers Q-Z, which cover subjects such as photography, science, medicine, computers and engineering. The Q section begins,on your left as you exit the elevator, and continues in a circle around the floor to end with Z. Folios (oversized books) are shelved right past the Z section. The Q-Z Thesis collection sits in front of the elevators.


7th Floor Call Numbers: J-P, except M
The 7th floor is reserved for SILENT study, no conversations are allowed. Cell phones, pagers and laptops should be on quiet mode when you’re working on this floor.

The books on this floor have call numbers J-P, which cover subjects such as politics, law, education, literature and art. (Books with the M call number are located on the 5th floor.) The J section begins on your left as you exit the elevator, and continues in a circle around the floor to end with P. The J-P Thesis collection sits in front of the elevators. Art reproductions can also be found on this floor.

  

6th Floor Call Numbers: A-H
The 6th floor is a QUIET study floor, designated for patrons to work and study with little to no conversation. Cell phones, pagers and laptops should be on quiet mode when you’re working on this floor.

The books on this floor have call numbers A-H, which cover subjects such as philosophy, business, history, and other social sciences. The A section begins on your left as you exit the elevator, and continues in a circle around the floor ending with H. The A-H Thesis collection sits in front of the elevators.
